Embrace the Change....

Photobucket
Today has been a difficult day for us!  Jeff and I were released from our Primary callings and I can honestly say we have never cried over being released, ever.....That was until today!  Tears have been shed and I have been asking myself if it is the right move!  I know that 'things happen for a reason' and all of that, but we had a class that we knew was right for us.  We have loved every minute of teaching these kids and for right now I want to be the one to continue to teach them.  I want to resist and to turn down the calling, but I knew that isn't the right thing to do.

You see there is this little boy who has changed me for the better!  He was in our class for a year and a half and I just adore him. He made us smile and laugh, he taught me (Jeff and the kids in our class) patience and unconditional love.   He is truly an amazing little boy and now I am left worrying about him and who is going to take over our class.  Please if you do know that he has the funniest sense of humor, allow him to share it with you!  He loves to hold hands while walking down the hall, so take his hand if he grabs yours.  Please be patient and kind to him and you will be rewarded 100 times over!  Let him trust you, earn his trust, because it will all be worth it!  He loves to move around the room, to be included and answer questions, please allow him to do those things.  He might shout or yell, but it's okay!  It is worth it all because he is Amazing, just wait and see!!

We had the best kids in our class, every single one of them!  I will miss teaching them, and being with them each week!  We are so grateful for the chance we had to teach these amazing kids!  It has truly been an amazing calling, and we are going to miss it!!  Thank you to the parents that allowed us, that trusted us with their kids each week!

Today my motto, what I keep telling myself is to embrace change!  I really don't want to, but in order for me to grow I need to!
And in the end everything is going to be okay!
Thank you to our Primary Presidency for trusting Jeff and I with our classes!  We feel truly honored and blessed to have been in there teaching!
Onto Wolf Leader in Cub Scouts....this is going to be a new adventure for me.  One I guess was coming with 4 boys.  We'll see how it goes!

A New Hair Do!

What started as a night for hair cuts turned into something a little bit more!
Photobucket
Jeff was cutting along, and the guard on the clippers fell off right as Jeff put the clippers to Grant's head.  He gasped, I gasped and we weren't sure what to do!  Jeff tried to save it and see what we could do, but the only thing to do was to buzz it.  We both wanted to cry, Grant did cry, but in the end he really likes having a buzzed head!
Photobucket
Almost done, and there are smiles even with some tears in his eyes.  He was liking it more as it went along!

Well when one gets their head shaved, what do you?!  Shave everyone all the other boys!
Photobucket
We talked about doing this, but were going to wait until Summer.  Instead we got a little head start :)
Handsome boys!!!

Love their smiles!
They are excited because Mom won't be doing their hair each day (because there isn't anything I can do with it, lol).

This is a new adjustment, but they like their hair (which is what matters).
And in the end, hair grows back!

Snow Mountain Pow Wow

Today we loaded up our Family and went and picked my Dad up to head out to the Paiute Indian Reservation!  My Dad invited us along to go and let our kids experience a Pow Wow.  It was a LOT of fun!  And even more fun to see how much my Dad and Jeff enjoyed their time there.  My Dad served his Mission in North & South Dakota with the Sioux Indians, and Jeff served his Mission in New Mexico with the Navajo Indians.  So they have been to a Pow Wow or two, and got to bring us along today :)

The kids and I with Papa Dan!

The weather was funny, it went from chilly and windy to hot and would change in a matter of minutes!  Some of us got a little bit of sun!

The bright colors, beads, ribbons, just is all so amazing!!!
Some more dancing competition!
Photobucket
They opened it up to the spectators to come and dance with them.  Grant went out first all by himself and went around the circle, and then Haden joined him.  It was cute to watch them try and do the steps along with everyone!

Enjoying these giant snow cones!

Eating an Indian Taco (or Navajo Taco as we have always referred to them)!
Coleman could not hold still with the drums going!  This is how he was, even when we were walking around looking at the booths!
Photobucket
The kids got a bean and cheese taco (basically a Navajo taco without all the toppings) and they all really liked it!

Some more dancers!

I am so glad we took the time to go out and enjoy today with my Dad!  I loved seeing his smile as he enjoyed each and everything that happened!  I loved hearing about the Pow Wows he went to on his Mission as well as Jeff going to the Gathering of the Nations (something we want to go to and take my Dad with us one day).  I loved how much our kiddos enjoyed it all!  Something we will definitely have to do again!!

After the Pow Wow, we went with my Dad to check up on his garden.  The kids enjoyed picking some grape tomatoes and checking out all the things that are growing!
