How can that be?????

Kahle is 2 weeks old today, time has just flown by! It is crazy to me!! He is such a good baby, he puts up with the millions of kisses from his brothers and sister (as well as Jeff and I), the kids wanting to hold him all the time, touch his head and get in his face when his eyes are open. He gets to hear Haden sing 'Twinkle Twinkle Little Star' in a high pitched voice and deals with it quite a few times a day! He is not quite back up to birth weight, but is up to 8 lbs. 7 oz. so we are getting there! He loves to be held while he is sleeping and to be honest I don't mind. Knowing he is our last I want to enjoy every minute of it :)
I thought I would write down everything that happened the morning of his birth, just to document it! We woke up at 4 am the next morning to get ready to head to the hospital. We arrived at 5:30 am, got into a room and they filled out some information, started an IV and got us all prepped for my c-section. Then we wait! Wait for the anesthesiologist, Dr. Martin and Dr. Swainston (who was assisting) to get there to start the c-section. Once they arrive we headed to the OR, I went in and they got my spinal block started and prepped for the surgery to start. Dr. Swainston had a whole playlist that he does for the c-section, and the first song on it was 'The First Cut is the Deepest' which made us laugh. Throughout the surgery Dr. Martin and Dr. Swainston included us in the conversation and made us laugh the entire time. Dr. Swainston leaned over the sheet that is put up and sang to me a couple of times throughout the surgery. Dr. Martin when we first started said he is hoping for a 10 lber, that we either go big or go home :) The surgery went well, I did get a bit nauseous, but the anesthesiologist put something in my IV that made me feel better. Dr. Martin and Swainston were trying to talk us out of a tubal, saying that they guarantee uterus's, and that mine is a good strong one and can handle 3 more kids :) They also told us that since we lived in Las Vegas, we should take a chance and only tie one tube! They kept the mood light and fun throughout the surgery! Kahle Thomas as born on June 2nd at 7:54 am weighing 9 lbs 2 oz and was 21 1/2 inches long. So not a 10 lber, but definitely wasn't small! The nurse brought him over to me and I was able to kiss him and touch his sweet little face. When they got him in the nursery they noticed his blood sugar was low (which is common with bigger babies) and so they gave him a bottle to help with it. I went into a room to recover and wait for them to move me into a postpartum room. My Mom, Mak and Jeff's Mom were there and were able to go back to the nursery with Jeff to see Kahle. Once I was transferred into a postpartum room, they brought Kahle into our room and I was able to hold him. He is absolutely precious! I fell in love right away! Later that day the kids came up to meet their new brother, it was so fun to watch the kids with him, each one of them were totally in love with him. They all took turns holding him and just couldn't get enough of him. Grant had a really hard time leaving me at the hospital, it was heartbreaking to watch him. My Dad came up after he got off work, and he stayed for a couple hours, it was so fun to have him there! I love watching him with babies, he totally loves them. The first night in the hospital was bit rough, but wasn't too bad and I was able to nap throughout the next day. The kids came up to visit again the next day, and Grant and Haden had a hard time leaving, and it made me break down and cry as well. It's hard to leave them, especially when they are missing me so much. That second night was much better, which was nice! That morning I was discharged and given the go ahead to go home when Kahle's doctor discharged him. So we waited! And waited! Kahle's doctor didn't come! The nurse finally called him at like 6pm that night and he discharged him over the phone, so I am guessing he forgot about us! Which was SO frustrating because we were so ready to go home, and the kids were all ready to go home as well. By the time we got all cleaned and packed up and got the nurse to discharge us it was 8 pm. We headed to my parents, ate some dinner, and took the kids home. They were exhausted, but we were all so glad to be home!! We are all adjusting really well to adding a 5th kiddo to our home.
Kahle we are so glad you have joined our family! We look forward to watching you grow up and see what your personality will be like! Love ya Little Man!
