Haden's First Week!

Has been a HUGE success! He absolutely LOVES school and everything about it. It is so fun to watch him get excited about it all. They have been asked to read daily, and be read to. And we do and have done that for a while before bed time, he insists we do it once the kids are all down for naps. So him and I sit down and I read him a book and he reads it back to me, we have had fun doing this everyday. They also do cards, to determine how good of a day they had, green, yellow or red, and Haden is set on keeping himself on the green card daily! He is always happy to report that he did so, and will let us know who had to go change their card to yellow. Which I think just the thought of having to go change his own card is enough to keep him from doing too much to get that yellow card (not that I'm saying it won't happen, but I know it won't be a daily thing, haha). It is so fun to drop him off and know that he is enjoying himself, and to pick him up and see the excitement on his face! He is sad he can't go every day of the week, and I worry how he will be when he is on break :) He is making friends and just having a blast! I am SO glad!! Today Jeff had off (he works 4-10's) and Haden LOVED having Jeff there to drop him off and pick him up. I am just glad that he loves it as much as he does! I think it makes it easier :)

Haden Started School Today!!

Well he officially went to school today and he was SO excited!! Be proud, I kept myself together until I started to drive away from the school, then I cried (not to talk about my moments last night or the past few days :) ). We got there and the kids were just standing there lining up, so I gave him a hug and he got in line. He stood there smiling and waving at me, and was just excited. I am SO glad that he didn't sense my nervousness for him, and that he was just happy to be there. Once the teacher had her things together, she opened the door and off they went! I can't believe this time in our lives is already here! It seems like just yesterday that he was a little baby, and here he is starting school!!!! I am so proud of him and can't wait to pick him up and hear how his day went! Thanks for all your love and support as I think this was harder on me than him! I will post later on how his day went, but wanted to get his pictures up so you can see my handsome boy who now goes to kindergarten!!

Haden's First Day of School

Well she has done it!

Delaney has started WALKING!!! She loves it and 'practices' all the time. If she falls she crawls over to something, stands herself up and tries again. She can't stand herself up from where she has fallen just yet, but that will come with time. Cole isn't a huge fan of her walking, and pushes her down a lot. But it hasn't stopped her yet, because she just keeps at it. It is so fun and she is so proud of herself when she does it! Here is a short video of her:

Is it really the Tummy Bug?

So around 1 pm yesterday Haden was FINE. And I mean he was running around playing, eating like he had been starved, and just back to himself again! You seriously wouldn't have known he was just sick! I thought it was great, but it was a bit confusing as to how well he actually bounced back! Later that night we were heading upstairs to bathe the kids and there was one of the boys play sleeping bags hung over the wall just above the stairs. So Jeff picked it up to put it away and this is what we found! The drywall was completely gone in this one section! So Jeff asked what happened and Haden admits to eating it, because he wondered what it tasted like and he was sure there had to be a bomb of some sort in it (where that came from I have NO clue, lol). SOOO we are thinking the drywall, and as much as he actually ate, is what made him sick! Which is great because no one else is going to get sick, but not so great because we have to fix the wall! It is quite funny to think that here I thought he was sick with something, instead of from something!! So he is all better, and he now knows that eating wallboard can make you sick! Lesson learned!!

The Tummy Bug

has claimed it's first victim, hoping and praying it's only victim. Haden woke up not feeling very good and after a little while he laid on the couch and threw up. So we got that cleaned up, and he really wanted to eat breakfast. A few minutes after he said he needed to go lay down, not hardly eating anything (which for Haden is so not normal, you know he isn't feeling good, because he is a great eater). I come in from the kitchen and he is sitting there with throw up all over him and the couch again. You would have thought I would have given him a bowl the first time, I learned my lesson, that's for sure! So I got him and couch cleaned up and got him all set up with a bowl, blanket and pillow. He has not been able to keep anything down, I feel so bad for him. Especially because Cole and Delaney are very interested when he is throwing up! He refuses to go in the bathroom, so he has to put up with them right there. Cole keeps coming and asking 'Hanen, okay?' he is so cute about it! He has finally fallen asleep, even with the other kids still playing, so that is good! I am hoping he will feel better when he wakes up and that NO ONE else gets it!

5 Sleeps!

is all there is left until we meet Haden's teacher! And then 7 sleeps until he starts school! Can it really be that time already? Can my little boy really be old enough to start kindergarten?! He is so excited! And so we are counting down by how many sleeps there are left, it is the easiest way for him to understand! Yesterday we sat and talked about it at lunch, and so this morning at breakfast he got this huge grin on his face and says 'Mom one down, only 4 more sleeps to go'. I seriously want to cry thinking about it, but I know he is going to love it! He is super excited!! And so am I, it is just hard letting him go.

If you can't tell I am having one of 'those' times where I am struggling with the thought that my kids are getting older and are no longer babies!

No Longer a Baby!

Does it ever feel like when they turn one they seem to magically grow up over night? I swear with each one it has felt like that, but especially with Delaney. She is trying to be big, although she's not walking, she is getting more daring to let go and take a couple steps. She has learned the word yes and says it all the time! It is too cute! She is becoming a Daddy's girl and has already got her Daddy wrapped around her finger! She is hilarious and knows it too! She laughs at herself a lot! She sits and reads books to herself, it is way too cute, and I need to get a video of it. She sings her own songs and dances all the time! She just is not a baby! She loves clothes, which has me a little worried :) . She is our only child that when you say it's time to get dressed, she comes crawling as fast as she can. The boys want to negotiate more time without having to get dressed, not Delaney! Oh and do you like her new trick? Yes she sticks her tongue out and laughs while she is doing it. It is hilarious to watch and makes us totally laugh at her! Anyway, time goes too quickly!! I better enjoy this time before she can talk back :)

Sleep Over!

Last Friday night my sweet sister, Adri, took the 3 boys to her house for a sleep over! They had a total blast! And then Jeff's Mom, Trudy, took Delaney so we could go to a movie and dinner, which was so nice! Not having to worry about 4 kids while we were out was such a nice thing. We saw Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants 2, which I totally loved! I love the first one and this one is just as good! Also earlier that day Adri came and took me to lunch and then took the boys, I mean seriously such a sweetheart! She posted pictures on her blog of the sleepover, you can find them HERE. What's up with us........

Well we haven't been up to much! Just hanging out and enjoying the last few weeks of not having to get up and everyone ready to get Haden to kindergarten in a couple of weeks. We have Haden's 'meet the teacher' day on Friday the 22nd and he cannot wait! He is so excited to meet his teacher and see his classroom, and then to actually start kindergarten on the 25th. Crazy to think we are already to the point of having kids go to school, ack! Grant is still his fun, very imaginative kid, and loves his brothers and sister. I think he is ready to have Haden gone for a bit during the day, he gets super frustrated with Haden, so school will be a good thing to give the two of them time a part. Cole has started talking up a storm, which is SO fun! He loves putting words together and make sentences, and gets a kick out of the fact that we understand him. He also thinks and tells us he is 'funny' all the time! Delaney is getting more daring and letting go of things to take more steps. Only a matter of time and she will be running with her brothers! She has started to 'growl' while holding an animal of some sort, and her brothers think it is so fun that she is growling. The cute thing about it is she growls this high pitched growl, nothing like her brothers :) Jeff is liking his job, and enjoys learning new things! It is hot but every once in a while they get to be in the air conditioned part of the building! The company he works for doesn't hardly offer over time, which stinks because it would be nice to have that, but it is nice to have him home on Friday's at the same time! Every week we get a 3 day weekend and we really like that. I am dealing with a lovely ear infection, I have dealt with them my whole life, so nothing new for me. But this one has been not fun and has left me to not hear out of my right ear, which totally stinks. But we are on medicine and I can already feel it working, so YAY for that! I have found..........

myself up late the past couple of nights watching the Olympics! What is that draws me to it, really I don't know! Jeff has to go to bed early to get up early for work, and I find myself staying up past midnight to watch the Olympics until they break for the night in broadcasting it. Are you watching it? Or I am alone in this? I was so excited the other night when USA men's 400m swim relay took gold, it was such an intense moment and I was so excited watching it. I feel silly sitting up this late by myself, but I guess not silly enough to stop, because here I sit at 11:30 pm watching the men's gymnastic team, which they are doing great...in case you were wondering :) Anyway, just wanted to share with you my obsession right now. Not even mine, but the boys as well! They get into it just as much as Jeff and I do, I figure it can't hurt them watch these amazing athletes. If you haven't watched it yet, try it, you may just get as hooked as I have :) Have a good night!

Edited to add: that I was up until 12:40 and the USA men took bronze in gymnastics. Which is good considering lots of people thought they didn't have a chance!

Have you ever had............

One of THOSE days at church, you know what I am talking about. Those days you wonder why you attempt to go with such small children :) Well today was one of THOSE days for me! It all started out great! Delaney was taking a bottle and starting to fall asleep, Cole had climbed up on Jeff's lap and was settling in. Delaney finished her bottle and wouldn't let herself completely fall asleep, She wanted Jeff and so we switched kids. Not too long after she wanted me again, all the while she was still staying relatively quiet. Well she all of the sudden starts yelling, we are half way through the sacrament, and so I slip out as they are starting the prayer for the water. We get out and she calms down a bit, but is SO tired! She would lay her head down and then pick it up and yell at me. Well it got to the point where I think she was overly tired and NOTHING was calming her down, which really is unusual. Especially for me, I can always calm her down! I felt helpless! We walked the halls and everything, but she was just not happy! I thought maybe she was still thirsty, so I got her calmed down enough and went back into the chapel and got her sippy cup. She started to fall asleep while getting a drink and then starts yelling again, ugh! So I walk the halls, AGAIN, but she just gets louder. At this point I have had a few people poke their heads out, and give you that smile. You know the one I am talking about where they feel sorry for you, but at the same time you can tell you are interrupting. So I take her outside, we walk around the church, but it is HOT. So I decide, screaming or not I would go in and get the keys to the van. Jeff is holding a sleeping Cole and I get the keys. I was thinking that maybe a drive in the car would calm her down and she would crash. Boy was I wrong, she continued to scream! It was to the point I wanted to scream and cry right along with her! I felt so bad for her, but at the same time I wanted, and needed her to stop! I finally decide to just bring her home, and so we get home and still upset and fighting sleep, I get her a drink and lay her down in her crib. Not 5 minutes later she is quiet, sound asleep! I don't know what was wrong, either she isn't feeling good (which could be possible) or she was just overly tired and couldn't calm herself down. I don't know what it was, but I am glad that I got her to go to sleep! Tomorrow is another day, and next Sunday is another day at church. *Crossing my Fingers* we can make it through church next week, without any problems!

Happy Birthday to ME!

Today is my 26th Birthday, wow I am old :) It doesn't seem like a year since we were celebrating my birthday by coming home with Delaney from the hospital!!
The kids all slept in today, I know they did it just for me not because they went to bed a bit later ;), and I didn't have to get up until 7:30!! Jeff had the house all cleaned up when I got up and blueberry muffins cooking~yummy!!! They all sung Happy Birthday to me! Then I showered and when I came down they had all left, so I had some time to myself. When they came home they had bought a bundt cake, they are SO good!!! I can't wait to eat it. Adri is on her way here and we are going to lunch, just the two of us. Lucky Jeff gets to watch the kids, Thanks Jeff! And Thanks Adri!!! Then Adri is taking all 3 boys back to her house for a sleep over, I think she is crazy, but the kids are SUPER excited!!!! Trudy is going to watch Delaney while Jeff and I go out to dinner! It has been a great day so far, and I know it is going to continue that way!! I hope you all have a great day in honor of my Birthday :)

WOW! I can't believe a year has come and gone. It has been more than I ever could have imagined to have you as my sweet little girl. I love you so much! I love that you are as rough as your brothers, but so girly all at the same time. I love your sweet smile! I love how you love to walk holding my hand. I love how you are so excited to discover new things! I love to watch your eyes light up, when you get excited. I love that you love water, especially the pool, and how excited you get! I love how protective your brothers are of you already, and I know that one day you will appreciate that :) I love how you so enjoy telling stories, and you love when we respond back to you! I love your hugs and kisses! I love that you dance when you hear music! I love when you hear Cole wake up from your naps you crawl to the bottom of the stairs and yell at me until I can go get him. I love how you already have a love for clothes! I love your beautiful eyes! I love your chubby thighs! I look forward to this next year, and all the other years after that, to see what the future holds for you! You are one amazing little girl and I am so glad that you are mine! Delaney's Birthday Party!

Yesterday we had Delaney's birthday party (even though her birthday isn't until Wed, and we don't need to talk about that yet, haha)! We had lots of fun! We had a BBQ, did presents, ate cake and ice cream and then went swimming. Delaney LOVES to swim and yesterday it seemed as if she knew she is getting older :) She would not stay in her floaty, she wanted to get out of anyone who was holder her, their arms. She was too funny, but she had a blast! As did everyone else who swam. Thank you to all those that came and celebrated with us, we love and appreciate you all!!

Delaney's Birthday Party

Oh Happy Day!!

Well happy for us, some may not agree.
We got Delaney's ears pierced!!!!!
I had forgotten my camera (I never forget my camera, UGH!!!) So we took some with my phone. Here we are right before she got them done.
Here she is after the first ear, she barely made a noise after the first ear. I was super impressed!
The second ear was a bit harder, but once I was able to let go of her head (from holding it still) and they cleaned her ear with the cleaning stuff (it's late, I forget the name, lol) she did great. Then we gave her a bottle and she was as happy as could be.
Here she is right before bed! You can't argue that she looks adorable, can you? I think so anyway!
