how truly Amazing Delaney is!! Yes I am going to brag about her, after the past couple days, she deserves it!!!

On Monday she had to have blood work done before her surgery! Jeff took her and all she said was 'ow', no crying, nothing!! When she got home she showed off a little doll she got from getting her blood drawn, they had toys to give to the kids, which I think is awesome! Monday night we went to my parents house to eat dinner and then my Dad helped Jeff give Delaney a blessing. I just have to say how grateful I am and blessed I feel to have the priesthood in my life! Thanks Daddy for helping out!!
We woke up early Tuesday morning and greeted my Mom who was at out house at 6:30 am to be there to get Haden and Grant out the door for school and to watch Coleman and Kahle. We got our things together and headed for the hospital! We got there, got all checked in and waited to be called back!
We got back, got her all changed into a gown and hung out playing and watching TV while we waited for her turn.
She was being goofy and having some fun :)

Hanging out with her Daddy!!!

She kept covering my face with my hair! She was being silly!

All ready to go :)
She did so good for so long, and then it just seemed the longer we waited the more nervous she got. She must have known, felt, that something was coming. She ended up getting frustrated with Jeff and I over little things and we just had to be patient with her!
Her ENT came by and talked to us, he also had a student there that was observing her surgery that day. Come to find out he went to school with my brother, Nate. Small world sometimes! Then the anesthesiologist came by and soon after the nurse came to get her. She turned to have Delaney say good bye and Delaney started to cry :( Talk about breaking your heart! We went out and waited for the ENT to come and talk to us. About a half hour/40 minutes after the ENT came out and got Jeff and I and brought us back, he said she did awesome!

Shortly after we got back she started to wake up so they gave her a popsicle!! We waited for a bit until they were done with their monitoring and paperwork and then they moved us up to her room! Since I was holding her and she was awake, they had me climb on a bed holding her and wheeled us up to her room.

We got in her room and not only did she have her IV, they also put a pulse ox monitor on her toe, a blood pressure cuff on her leg and an alarm on the other leg! Needless to say it didn't take long for her to be tired of the wires, but she dealt with them!

Hanging out watching some TV! They also had Bolt and Monsters vs. Aliens on that TV, so nice!

After getting some tylenol, she took a much needed nap! And slept great for a couple hours!

She wasn't going to let anything get in her way! She colored with her left hand, when usually she colors with her right. And held the paper down with her IV/splint thing!

Notice her hand and how many pokes she has in it! She has FOUR pokes and then the IV ended up in her other hand. I am just glad they put her to sleep before they poked her!
Jeff and I had to switch off for meals! Since she couldn't eat, we didn't want to eat in the room in front of her. So for lunch Jeff ate in the car and then came and sat with her while I went and ate. And then for dinner, Jeff brought me some dinner and sat with her while I went and ate.

After she started eating and drinking her clear liquids, they unhooked her IV and took off the blood pressure cuff! They also unhooked her pulse ox monitor so she could go out and walk the halls for a bit!

While walking the halls, there was a toy room but another little girl was in there so Delaney wanted nothing to do the room :) So we walked some more and she found these little chairs!
Jeff went home to be with the boys and get Haden and Grant off to school this morning, and I stayed the night. She was having a rough time, she was tired but her mouth was owwie, so we were giving her medicine. Well she doesn't like the taste of the tylenol with codine they have for her, and she let the nurse and me know it! I had to hold her down and the nurse squirted the medicine in her mouth, while we both dodged being spit on as she was spitting the medicine out when she could. I felt so bad for her, but she needed the medicine to help her pain go away. She slept Great though! I was so grateful that they let me sign a waiver for her to sleep in a crib, and allowed her and I to share a bed. I was also so grateful for how quiet the nurses would be when she was sleeping! They were able to do her vitals without her waking, and if she woke up it was for a second and she was back asleep!

This morning she was back on a regular diet, and she was so excited! She had this sausage, egg sandwich and at almost all of it! She is such a trooper!

Hanging out with Mom waiting to go home!
The nurse was waiting to take her IV out until we were ready and then when we were ready the nurse was doing things. Jeff got there with Coleman and Kahle to pick us up and he brought them up to help get the nurse moving to we could go! Once she saw them she came right in and got her ready to go. The smile on Delaney's face was priceless when she saw her Daddy and her 'boys' as she calls them! We got her ready and we were on our way!!!

On our way HOME!!
Her voice is slightly higher but is sounds so cute!! Makes Jeff and I laugh because it is a change from how she used to talk! I don't know if its permanent, we will have to see!
The nurse commented on how well Delaney was doing and that she was recovering better than the other two kids that were there for the same surgery. I have to believe that was the blessing she received, I am so grateful for the priesthood!!! I am also so grateful for the power of prayer, and know that it works! Thank you all for your thoughts and prayers as we went through this whole process with her!!!
I want to Thank everyone who helped and offered to help us out! Thank you to my Mom for waking up early and being here to get the older ones out the door to school and taking care of Coleman and Kahle throughout the day. Thank you to my Parents for for watching all the boys while Jeff came up and sat with her while I ate dinner!! Thank you to Lorey for watching Grant until Jeff picked him up! And thanks to Lorey and Vickie, who are bringing us dinner tonight! We SO appreciate all of your help!!!!
